Mechanical Engineer

CPECC Algeria is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for its projects in southern Algeria. Fluent English is mandatory.

Position summary

The Mechanical Engineer provides mechanical engineering support and site supervision for oil and gas construction and installation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Engineering studies: prepare and review mechanical design documents, calculations, equipment data sheets and specifications (static and rotating equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, mechanical packages).

• Document review: check vendor drawings and technical documentation for compliance with project specifications and international codes (ASME, API).

• Construction support: provide mechanical engineering support during fabrication, erection and installation at the project site.

• Inspection and testing: follow up equipment inspection, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities; witness tests (hydrotests, running tests) as required.

• Technical queries: respond to site technical queries and propose solutions to mechanical engineering issues.

• Coordination: liaise with other disciplines (piping, civil, electrical, instrumentation) and with subcontractors on site.

• HSE and quality: apply project HSE rules and quality procedures on site.

• Reporting: report progress, deviations and technical issues to the Engineering Manager.
