Product Manager – Gaming Vas Products Africa

Job Summary

We are looking for a Product Manager to own and grow our Gaming VAS portfolio across Africa. You will shape the mobile gaming services we sell through telecom operators (game portals subscription game clubs tournaments quiz and trivia services) on web and mobile from roadmap to launch to performance.

Working closely with our operator partners and internal teams your goal is to make these services more engaging easier to subscribe to and more profitable in markets where mobile is the main gateway to digital entertainment.

Key missions

You will own the Gaming VAS products end to end from strategy and catalogue to acquisition subscription flows and performance.

Product strategy & roadmap

• Define and manage the roadmap of our Gaming VAS products (HTML5 game portals subscription game clubs tournaments quiz and trivia services) on web and mobile.

• Write feature specifications and user journeys and organise the game catalogue and content structure.

• Prioritise enhancements based on user feedback data and business objectives.

Games catalogue & localisation

• Curate and refresh the games catalogue with content partners publishers and studios.

• Adapt products to African markets: local languages cultural relevance entry-level devices and limited bandwidth.

Engagement & retention

• Design engagement features such as tournaments leaderboards rewards challenges and seasonal events.

• Drive retention actions to reduce churn across the subscriber base.

• Activate gaming content around major events and local cultural moments.

Acquisition & marketing

• Prepare marketing briefs and coordinate promotional assets with the Marketing and Acquisition teams: landing pages banners SMS and USSD campaigns push notifications social media and operator communication materials.

• Support service launches in new countries and with new operators.

Subscription flows & UX

• Optimise subscription and payment flows (carrier billing OTP/PIN header enrichment USSD SMS) to improve conversion and billing success.

• Improve UX/UI and the overall player experience while meeting operator and regulatory requirements.

Operator partnerships & delivery

• Coordinate internal teams (tech design content marketing data customer care) and telecom operators to deliver projects on time.

• Ensure services comply with each operators guidelines and local regulations (user consent price display unsubscription).

• Track requirements follow up on development and report on progress.

Performance & data

• Monitor key KPIs: subscriber base conversion rate churn ARPU billing success rate active users game plays and customer complaints.

• Analyse results and turn them into concrete recommendations and action plans.

Market intelligence

• Follow trends in mobile gaming VAS and carrier billing across Africa.

• Benchmark competitors to identify new opportunities and best practices.

Qualifications :

Your profile

You are a gamer at heart with a product mindset comfortable with data and with working alongside telecom operators.

Must-have

• Masters degree (Bac5) from a business or engineering school or equivalent.

• 2 years of experience in product management VAS mobile gaming telecom or digital services.

• Genuine passion for gaming and a good understanding of mobile gaming business models (subscription freemium advertising).

• Solid understanding of web and mobile technologies.

• Analytical data-driven mindset: comfortable with KPIs dashboards and Excel or Google Sheets.

• Ability to work effectively with technical marketing business and operator teams.

• Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to run several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment.

• Proactive curious and solution-oriented.

• Fluent in French and English.
