Sr Principal Professional Services Project Manager

About the Role

Aspen Technology is seeking an experienced Sr Principal Professional Services Project Manager to join the Professional Services Project Management Office. This full-time role supports the Middle East region, focusing on the delivery of technology projects for market-leading organizations. The successful candidate will ensure project execution from initiation through completion, maintaining high visibility with both internal stakeholders and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategically monitor and manage projects, ensuring delivery on budget and on schedule with high customer satisfaction.
• Execute all project management phases, from initiation through delivery to closeout.
• Provide functional supervision to contractors, consultants, and engineers assigned to projects.
• Ensure compliance with all reporting, project administration, and documentation requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring a high degree of customer satisfaction through world-class delivery practices.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including R&D, Support, Product Management, and Sales.
• Implement changes, provide clear leadership, and apply best practices to bring projects back on track when necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of ten (10) years of project management experience, with at least three (3) years in project management leadership for IT initiatives.
• Experience in the process industry, preferably oil & gas, petrochemicals, or related sectors.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects impacting different business functions and multiple locations.
• Experience with international customers, primarily in the Middle East region, and ideally also Eastern Europe and India.
• Proficiency in key areas of project management including scope, time, cost, quality, risk, and procurement.
• Technical understanding to enable effective delivery of technology projects, including new system implementations.
• Ability and willingness to travel at least 25% of the time, including international travel.
• Industry-recognized Project Management certification is desirable.
• Experience in both waterfall and agile project management methodologies is desirable.

Work Environment

This role is a full-time position within Aspen Technology's Professional Services Project Management Office, supporting operations across the Middle East region. The Project Manager will engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, contributing to the successful implementation of technology projects.
