About the Role

H&P is seeking a Rigger I to join their team in Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves assisting with rig moves by preparing and executing lifting plans, ensuring the safety and integrity of all rigging operations. The role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Approve and ensure accurate identification and calculation of lift arrangements and capacities.
• Approve and ensure proper calculation of required sling size based on identified load weight.
• Attach loads using correct Center of Gravity (COG) principles and select appropriate hitches for load control, including tandem lifts, man-basket operations, and other critical lifts.
• Ensure and approve detailed inspection of all rigging equipment before use to confirm absence of defects and adherence to guidelines.
• Set up and perform designed lifting plans, safeguarding both rigging and loads during the lift.
• Create and execute multi-legged lifts, accounting for D/d ratio on wire ropes as per approved requirements.
• Create and execute choker hitch lifts, allowing for appropriate reduction on slings.
• Calculate Sling Angle Stress.
• Perform correct hand signaling and deliver proper radio communication for effective load control.
• Utilize bridle and crane load charts in the development of lifting plans.
• Employ conversion charts for accurate conversion between Metric and Imperial measurements.
• Calculate areas and volumes of identified loads.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English, and to write simple correspondence.
• Effective communication skills to present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and employees.
• Proficiency in determining the necessary tools and equipment for a given task.
• Aptitude for using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
• Capability to obtain and ensure the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials required for specific work.
