QC Coating Inspector

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced QC Coating Inspector to monitor and verify the quality of surface preparation, protective coating, painting, and corrosion protection activities at project sites across Saudi Arabia. The role requires strong knowledge of coating inspection procedures, ITPs, coating specifications, QA/QC documentation, applicable standards, and Saudi Aramco requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting, coating, and touch-up activities in accordance with approved specifications, ITPs, and project requirements.
• Verify surface condition, cleanliness, profile, and preparation before application of coating systems.
• Inspect coating application for DFT/WFT, adhesion, curing, recoat interval, coverage, and visual defects.
• Monitor environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, dew point, and surface temperature before and during coating activities.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, shelf life, storage conditions, mixing ratios, and application procedures.
• Review and verify coating manufacturer data sheets, material certificates, inspection reports, and test records.
• Conduct or witness relevant coating tests, including holiday detection, DFT measurement, adhesion testing, and surface profile measurements, as applicable.
• Ensure compliance with approved ITPs, method statements, coating procedures, project specifications, and Saudi Aramco standards.
• Identify coating defects and non-conformities, raise NCRs/observations, and follow up on corrective actions and closure.
• Maintain coating inspection reports, daily records, test reports, material records, and QA/QC documentation.
• Coordinate with coating contractors, construction teams, client representatives, and third-party inspectors.
• Support final inspection, punch-list clearance, mechanical completion, and turnover dossier preparation.

Mandatory Requirements

• Diploma/Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• 6+ years of relevant experience as a QC Coating Inspector.
• Minimum 6+ years of relevant Gulf experience.
• Valid CBT certification, where applicable.
• Valid Saudi Aramco approval or proven experience working on Saudi Aramco projects.
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation, blasting, coating application, inspection procedures, ITPs, and QA/QC documentation.
• Knowledge of coating inspection standards such as NACE/AMPP, SSPC, ASTM, and ISO, as applicable.
• Experience with DFT/WFT, surface profile, dew point, environmental monitoring, holiday detection, and adhesion testing.
• Candidates currently available in Saudi Arabia will be given priority.
• Open to candidates from India, Pakistan, Philippines, and eligible local-transfer candidates; Saudi Nationals are not eligible.
