Job Purpose & Overview:

Fleet Tahreez JV (FTJV) is seeking a practical, field-oriented HSE Officer to support geophysical exploration activities across remote locations in Saudi Arabia. The role requires a strong field presence, daily interaction with crews, disciplined HSE monitoring and timely reporting. The position is not primarily office-based and will involve desert, rocky and mountainous terrain, long travel times, walking to inaccessible locations, extreme heat and limited communications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Field HSE presence: Maintain active HSE coverage during ANT, MT/AMT, Gravity, Magnetic and related field

activities; identify unsafe acts/conditions and ensure controls are implemented before work proceeds.

• Risk assessment: Support and review Risk Assessments, JSA/Method Statements, Take-5 / field-level assessments

and Journey Management Plans. Confirm access constraints, walking distance, slope and terrain difficulty before

assigning or accepting field risk categories.

• Remote terrain safety: Monitor work involving difficult vehicle access, steep slopes, long walking distances,

loose/rocky ground and isolated locations. Verify appropriate PPE, water, communications and emergency equipment

are carried.

• Heat stress and fatigue: Implement heat-stress controls, monitor environmental conditions, hydration, rest and

recovery, and identify signs of heat illness or fatigue. Escalate fitness-for-work concerns.

• Journey and vehicle safety: Verify vehicle readiness, recovery equipment, first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, drinking

water and communications. Monitor journey management, IVMS requirements, 4x4 driving and recovery risks.

• Communication and check-ins: Confirm satellite phones, Garmin/inReach, radios or other approved devices are

functional and charged. Support scheduled field check-ins and immediately escalate missed check-ins or loss of

communication.

• Toolbox talks and training: Conduct relevant daily toolbox talks and practical HSE awareness on heat stress, fatigue,

manual handling, buddy system, emergency response, first aid/CPR awareness, journey management, communication

and difficult-terrain work.

• Emergency response: Support medical emergencies, lost-person events, vehicle incidents and other field

emergencies in line with the Emergency Response Plan; participate in drills and practical exercises.

• Incident management: Report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions promptly; support investigations, evidence

collection, corrective actions and close-out tracking.

• Inspections and compliance: Conduct routine checks of field activities, vehicles, PPE, accommodation/camp areas,

stores, emergency equipment and communication devices. Monitor compliance with FTJV, client and applicable Saudi

requirements.

• Reporting: Prepare clear daily, weekly and monthly HSE records and reports in English, including inspections,

observations, toolbox talks, training, incidents and corrective actions.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an HSE Officer / Safety Officer in a field-based environment.

• Experience in remote field, desert, mining, exploration, geophysics, construction, oil & gas or similar operations is

strongly preferred.

• Sound understanding of risk assessment, JSA, journey management, heat-stress controls, emergency response,

incident reporting/investigation and PPE requirements.

• Physically capable of frequent outdoor work, remote travel and walking over difficult terrain.

Skills & Abilities:

• Fluent English (speaking, reading and writing) is mandatory, including conducting toolbox talks and writing daily, inspection and incident reports.

  
  

• Willing to work at remote project sites across Saudi Arabia, staying at camp during the work rotation, with frequent travel on unpaved or difficult routes.

  
  

• Able to work outdoors in desert and mountainous terrain and in hot weather while wearing required PPE.

  
  

• Strong field-safety awareness and hazard-identification skills.

  
  

• Able to engage crews professionally and enforce HSE requirements consistently.

  
  

• Sound judgement and calm decision-making in emergencies.

  
  

• Able to work independently and maintain accurate records.

  
  

• Proactive approach to incident prevention and corrective-action follow-up.

  
  

• Willing to spend significant time in the field (not an office-only role).

  
  

Preferred Experience:

• Mining, mineral exploration or geophysical survey operations

  
  

• Remote desert and/or mountainous operations

  
  

• Journey management, 4x4 field operations and vehicle recovery controls
