The Role
Penspen is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join their team in Al Khafji, Eastern region. This full-time position involves overseeing instrumentation and control engineering deliverables for major oil and gas/petrochemical projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee instrumentation and control engineering deliverables developed by EPC contractors, ensuring adherence to project requirements and international standards (ISA, IEC).
- Review instrument datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and control logic narratives.
- Validate integration between control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) and field instruments.
- Evaluate vendor submittals, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures, and technical deviations.
- Participate in design reviews and ensure the operability and maintainability of control systems.
- Support field verification, loop checks, and commissioning activities.
- Provide assurance of compliance with project HSE and control system standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
- A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in the field.
- At least six (6) years of this experience must be specifically within Instrumentation & Control Engineering for major Oil and Gas/Petrochemical projects.
- Demonstrated experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) is essential.
Work Location
This position is based in Al Khafji, within the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia.
