Job Title: Infrastructure & Sewage Plumber
Department: Project Management / Execution and Operations
Job Level: Professional / Technical General Job Objective:
Take responsibility for the installation, extension, maintenance, and repair of water and sewage systems and networks in infrastructure projects and construction sites, ensuring that work is executed in accordance with engineering drawings and approved safety and quality standards. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Excavate and prepare trenches and pathways for the extension of main and branch pipelines in coordination with heavy equipment operators.
• Install and connect pipes of various types and sizes (e.g., vitrified clay, concrete, PVC, HDPE) used in storm drainage, sewage, and drinking water systems.
• Use cutting, welding (thermal and electrical), and threading tools and equipment to prepare pipes and connectors.
• Construct and install manholes, traps, valves, and network pumps.
• Conduct pressure and leakage tests (hydraulic tests) for new and upgraded networks to ensure their integrity before backfilling.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair breaks or blockages in existing sewage networks efficiently and quickly.
• Strict adherence to occupational health and safety standards at construction sites, especially when working in confined spaces and deep trenches.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Technical diploma or professional certificate in plumbing, sanitary installations, or equivalent (or extensive proven practical experience).
• Experience: At least 3 to 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects, roads, or major sewage networks.
• Technical Skills:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the types of pipes and materials used in infrastructure and the methods for welding and connecting them.
  • Strong ability to read and understand shop drawings.
  • Proficiency in using manual and electrical devices for testing and extending networks.
• Physical Abilities: Excellent physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and open sites.
• Soft Skills: Good teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with site supervisors and engineers.
