What is the Role?

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) who has knowledge of SQL and prior experience with relational databases to join our technology team in Riyadh. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the availability, performance, security, and integrity of the company’s databases and supporting reliable data operations across the organization.

What Will You Do?

• Administer, monitor, and maintain production and non-production database environments.
• Ensure the availability, performance, security, and reliability of databases.
• Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance.
• Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization and capacity improvement.
• Develop and maintain effective backup and recovery procedures and regularly test recovery processes.
• Monitor database health, storage, resource utilization, and performance metrics.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution of incidents and performance problems.
• Implement and maintain appropriate database security, access controls, and user permissions.
• Support database replication, high availability, and disaster recovery requirements where applicable.
• Work closely with Software Engineering, IT, Information Security, and other business teams to support applications and data requirements.
• Assist developers with query optimization, database design, indexing, and performance improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, backup policies, and operational processes.
• Support data migration, integration, and database-related projects as required.
• Ensure database operations follow applicable internal policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.

What Qualifications and Requirements are Good to have to be considered for the role?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in database administration or a similar role.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, banking, lending, or other regulated industries.
• Solid knowledge of database management, administration, monitoring, and maintenance
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization, including queries and indexing.
• Hands-on knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery concepts and procedures
• Understanding of database security, access management, and data integrity.
• Knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases.
• Familiarity with database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance-analysis tools.
• Knowledge of high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud database platforms and environments.
• Relevant database certifications are a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic and English.
• High level of integrity, flexibility, willingness, and sense of ownership.
