About Our Client

Our client is a leading global manufacturer serving the oil and gas water and industrial sectors. With a major manufacturing base in the Kingdom they are expanding their upstream presence and seeking a technically strong sales professional to drive adoption of their solutions in downhole applications.

The Role

As Technical Sales Manager you will identify and develop market opportunities across upstream oil and gas with a particular focus on downhole activity. You will work closely with operators drilling contractors and industry bodies to understand their technical challenges and position non-metallic alternatives to conventional materials. You will partner with the commercial sales lead and the R&D team to shape new solutions and bring them to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse the upstream oil and gas market to identify growth areas emerging technologies and applications and turn these insights into actionable business development plans.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing stakeholders especially drilling departments of operators to understand their technical requirements and drive material conversion.
• Communicate a compelling value proposition built on innovation technology and service with emphasis on downhole applications.
• Lead technical presentations workshops and client training to build customer confidence in the product range.
• Work with the in-house technology team to develop new solutions that respond to market trends and specific customer needs.
• Build a thorough understanding of competing technologies and produce persuasive technical documentation.
• Ensure all technical offers meet customer specifications across the full well lifecycle.
• Advise on well design pipe selection and resolution of operational failure issues including building models that demonstrate the value of proposed solutions.
• Manage a large customer portfolio from major national oil companies (such as Saudi Aramco and ADNOC) and international oil companies through to smaller operators.
• Uphold health safety environmental and corporate responsibility standards at all times.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Around 5 years experience in a comparable technical sales or technical role ideally within the oil and gas drilling sector.
• Hands-on experience with well design is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage large complex accounts independently.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Fluent spoken and written English (Arabic is an advantage).
• Saudi national.
