Role Description This is an on-site internship role for a Cyber Security Engineer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The intern will assist in monitoring security systems, analyzing alerts, and supporting incident response activities under the guidance of senior engineers. Daily tasks include participating in vulnerability assessments, reviewing application and network configurations for security gaps, and helping implement security controls and best practices. The role also involves documenting findings, contributing to security reports, and supporting ongoing improvements to APTWatch’s cybersecurity technologies and platforms. Interns will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure design and deployment of AI-driven and enterprise software solutions.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Cybersecurity and Information Security concepts, including security principles, risk management, and threat landscapes.
• Skills in Network Security and related technologies, such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure network architectures.
• Knowledge of Application Security practices, including secure coding basics, code review support, and common application vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
• Experience or coursework in Vulnerability Assessment, including the use of security tools, vulnerability scanning, and basic remediation planning.
• Pursuing or holding a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with operating systems (Linux/Windows), scripting or programming languages (such as Python or Bash), and basic cloud security concepts is beneficial.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to follow structured security processes and documentation standards.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
