Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on IT Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting all IT infrastructure across our corporate offices and active construction site offices. The ideal candidate understands the fast-paced, rugged environment of construction sites and can ensure seamless connectivity, hardware reliability, and robust site security systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Construction Site IT Infrastructure: Deploy, configure, and maintain temporary and permanent IT setups for active construction site offices, including site trailers, field networks, and mobile connectivity solutions.
• Hardware & Software Support: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and plotters/printers across all departments.
• CCTV & Security Camera Installation: Install, configure, and maintain site security cameras, IP surveillance systems, and monitoring setups to ensure continuous site perimeter visibility.
• Network & Connectivity Management: Manage site LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi deployment, secure VPN tunnels, and ensure reliable data communication between remote construction sites and the main headquarters.
• Helpdesk & Cross-Departmental Support: Provide prompt technical support and IT assistance to project managers, site engineers, administrative staff, and executive teams.
• Data Backup & Asset Management: Maintain accurate inventories of IT hardware and software licenses, and ensure routine data backups and basic cybersecurity protocols are strictly followed on-site.
• Vendor & Equipment Coordination: Coordinate with external ISPs, hardware vendors, and contractors for site internet installations and equipment repairs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 2 to 3 years of professional experience in IT support and infrastructure management.
• Industry Mandate: Mandatory proven working experience in construction site offices or within the construction/engineering sector.
• Preferred Certifications: Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator.

• Strong hands-on knowledge of networking fundamentals (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points).
• Familiarity with rugged field environments and physical cable management (ethernet runs, patch panels).
• Excellent troubleshooting mindset with the ability to work independently under tight project timelines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to assist non-technical staff across various departments.
