About the Role

Celebrity Cruises is seeking a Baker Tournant to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the bakery shop and maintaining high standards of production, quality, and presentation for all bread assortments. The role requires 2-5 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth and efficient operation and control of the Bakery Shop and daily production in accordance with company policies.
• Manage the production, quality, and presentation of the bread assortment for daily menus.
• Assist the Head Baker in preparing production forecasts and recording leftovers to minimize waste and maintain food costs within budget.
• Support the set-up of bread displays in various buffets.
• Maintain complete knowledge of United States Public Health (USPH) rules and regulations and ensure daily compliance.
• Oversee the cleaning of the bakery shop as per the Executive Chef’s schedule, employing proper methods to minimize equipment damage.
• Ensure the bakery is prepared for all announced or unannounced USPH inspections by ship management or USPH inspectors.
• Handle the requisition and transportation of necessary items from main stores to the bakery shop when assigned.
• Verify that recipes and yields adhere to company standards.
• Assist the CDP Baker with the completion of the daily consumption recap as required by the Executive Chef.
• Acquire and maintain necessary knowledge to comply with the ship’s standard operation, assisting guests and crew members with inquiries.
• Attend meetings, training activities, courses, and other work-related activities as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of three years of experience as a Baker in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service. Shipboard experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and equipment usage.
• Completion of high school or basic education equivalency is required.

Work Environment

This role operates within a dynamic cruise ship environment, requiring adherence to strict health and safety regulations, including USPH standards. The position involves working closely with the culinary team to deliver high-quality bakery products for guests and crew.
