We are seeking a motivated, creative, and detail-oriented Junior Front-End Developer to join our remote software development team.

This entry-level position focuses on building, updating, testing, and maintaining user-friendly websites and web applications. The successful candidate will collaborate with developers, designers, and other team members to create responsive interfaces, implement visual designs, resolve basic technical issues, and improve the overall user experience.

The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, enjoys solving problems, and is enthusiastic about learning modern front-end development technologies.

Previous professional software development experience is not required. Training, mentorship, code reviews, and ongoing technical guidance will be provided. Recent graduates, self-taught developers, coding bootcamp graduates, and career changers are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Front-End Website Development

1. Assist with developing and maintaining websites and web applications.
2. Write clean, organized, and readable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
3. Build reusable user-interface elements under the guidance of senior developers.
4. Convert approved design mockups into functional web pages.
5. Implement navigation menus, forms, buttons, and interactive components.
6. Update existing pages and features according to project requirements.
7. Follow established coding standards and development practices.
8. Maintain accurate documentation of completed development tasks.

Responsive Web Design

1. Develop layouts that adapt to desktop, tablet, and mobile screens.
2. Apply responsive design techniques using CSS and modern layout tools.
3. Test interfaces across different screen sizes and browsers.
4. Identify and correct basic layout, alignment, and styling issues.
5. Support consistent visual presentation across web pages.
6. Collaborate with designers to implement approved design specifications.
7. Help maintain accessible and user-friendly interfaces.

JavaScript & Interactive Features

1. Assist with implementing interactive website functionality.
2. Write and update JavaScript for basic front-end features.
3. Work with forms, events, and dynamic page content.
4. Support basic client-side data validation.
5. Identify and resolve simple JavaScript errors.
6. Learn to integrate front-end components with approved APIs.
7. Follow established practices for readable and maintainable code.

Front-End Frameworks & Libraries

1. Assist with developing features using frameworks or libraries such as React, Vue, or Angular, depending on project requirements.
2. Learn component-based development and reusable interface patterns.
3. Support updates to existing application components.
4. Follow established project structures and coding conventions.
5. Participate in guided technical tasks and collaborative development.
6. Apply feedback from senior developers and code reviews.

Testing & Debugging

1. Test websites and applications for functionality and usability.
2. Identify visual defects, broken links, and basic functionality issues.
3. Use browser developer tools to investigate front-end errors.
4. Assist with debugging HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
5. Verify that completed changes meet assigned requirements.
6. Document issues and communicate findings to the development team.
7. Retest corrected features before submitting work for review.

User Experience & Accessibility

1. Collaborate with designers to create clear and intuitive interfaces.
2. Support consistent typography, spacing, colors, and layouts.
3. Follow established accessibility and usability guidelines.
4. Assist with improving navigation and content presentation.
5. Apply semantic HTML and basic accessibility practices.
6. Support improvements to page responsiveness and loading performance.

Version Control & Development Workflow

1. Use Git or other approved version-control tools.
2. Maintain organized code changes and descriptive commit messages.
3. Assist with creating and updating development branches.
4. Participate in pull requests and code reviews.
5. Follow established procedures for testing and submitting changes.
6. Maintain clear documentation of assigned tasks and updates.

Documentation & Technical Support

1. Maintain basic technical notes and development documentation.
2. Update task trackers and report progress on assigned features.
3. Assist with documenting interface components and code changes.
4. Review development instructions and project requirements.

6. Support routine website maintenance and content updates.
7. Complete additional development assignments under supervision.

Remote Team Collaboration

1. Communicate professionally through email, chat, and virtual meetings.

3. Participate in virtual standups, onboarding, training, and code reviews.
