Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Data Center Engineer to manage and maintain critical data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking equipment, and power distribution systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management, and ensuring high availability of data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
- Ensure high availability of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and network connectivity.
- Monitor system performance, network traffic, hardware health, and environmental conditions.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Respond to outages, manage incidents, and escalate critical issues as per established procedures.
- Support virtualization, resource optimization, and infrastructure performance improvement.
- Implement security controls, access policies, and infrastructure best practices.
- Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, maintenance logs, and incident reports.
- Coordinate with IT, networking, security, facilities, and vendor teams for infrastructure support.
- Participate in preventive maintenance and rotational shift operations to support 24/7 availability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in data center operations, IT infrastructure, or system administration.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, networking, and storage technologies.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, or equivalent.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and basic routing and switching.
- Knowledge of data center power distribution, cooling, and environmental monitoring.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and support critical incidents as required.
Preferred Certifications: CompTIA Server+, Network+, CCNA, VMware certifications, or equivalent.
