Senior Project Controls Manager

About the Role

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Senior Project Controls Manager. This full-time role involves overseeing and managing the project controls function, ensuring effective monitoring, analysis, and management of project performance metrics such as schedule, cost, and quality. The manager will develop and implement project controls strategies, policies, and procedures, while providing leadership to project controls teams.

Role Purpose

The Senior Project Controls Manager works closely with project managers, stakeholders, and functional leads to establish project baselines, identify risks and opportunities, and drive project success through informed decision-making and proactive risk management. The primary purpose of this role is to optimize project performance, mitigate risks, and ensure the successful delivery of projects within defined scope, schedule, and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project controls strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure effective monitoring and management of project performance.
• Oversee the establishment of project baselines, including schedules, budgets, and performance metrics, in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
• Lead the project controls team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support for the successful execution of project controls activities.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance indicators, analyzing variances and identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with project managers and functional leads to develop mitigation strategies for identified risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare regular project controls reports and updates for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key issues, trends, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with finance, procurement, and contracts management teams to ensure alignment of project controls activities with organizational objectives and policies.
• Conduct project controls audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of controls processes and identify areas for enhancement.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in project controls, incorporating relevant methodologies and tools to improve project outcomes.
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the project controls team and across the organization.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for this position should possess 8 years of relevant experience in project controls management.

Reporting and Communication

This role is responsible for preparing regular project controls reports and updates for senior management and stakeholders, facilitating communication and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
