Job Description: Tailoring / Pattern Maker & Industrial Tailor
Job Title: Pattern Maker & Industrial Tailor
Department: Production and Operations Department
Job Objective: Prepare and detail patterns accurately, cut fabrics efficiently to minimize waste, and sew and assemble pieces with industrial finishing quality that meets the operator's standards.Key Responsibilities
* Drawing and Modifying Patterns: Drawing and modifying basic patterns (flat or digital) for various models (dresses, casual wear, women's clothing), and matching measurements and measurement tables accurately.
* Fabric Cutting and Marker Making: Spreading fabric and determining the direction of the fabric, arranging pattern pieces with maximum efficiency to minimize waste (Fabric Wastage), and cutting pieces accurately using manual and electric cutting scissors.
* Industrial Sewing and Operations: Sewing and assembling pieces using industrial sewing machines (Single Needle Lockstitch, Overlock/Serger 4 & 5 threads, and Coverstitch/Flatlock machines if available).
* Finishing: Executing invisible zippers, trims, cuffs, pintucks, and finishing seams with high quality and complete cleanliness of threads from inside and outside.
* Sample Inspection and Adjusting Prototypes: Sewing initial samples, and making necessary adjustments to measurements or cuts after trial measurements.
* Maintenance and Operation of Equipment: Adjusting thread tension standards, changing needles according to fabric type and thickness, and regular cleaning and lubrication of machines.

• Pattern Making & Grading:
  • Flat Pattern Drafting accurately according to measurement tables.
  • Grading adjustments for pieces to fit multiple sizes (S, M, L, XL).
  • Ease adjustments and control over cutting lines and proportions.
  • Fitting adjustments based on fitting samples and correcting fitting issues.
• Industrial Cutting Techniques:
  • Marker Making to maximize fabric utilization and minimize waste.
  • Grainline determination and matching fabric directions and patterns.
  • Proficiency in manual and industrial cutting machines.
  • Creating notches and markings for accurate assembly.
• Industrial Machine Operation:
  • Single Needle Lockstitch machine operation with precision.
  • Overlock/Serger operation for seam finishing.
  • Coverstitch/Flatlock for hemming and finishing.
  • Initial mechanical adjustments for tension and needle selection.
• Fabric Knowledge:
  • Handling delicate and flowing fabrics without distortion.
  • Working with stretch fabrics and ensuring seam elasticity.
  • Understanding properties of stable and structured fabrics.
• Professional Finishing Techniques:
  • Expertise in installing zippers and finishing garments.
  • Executing various pocket styles and cuffs.
  • Topstitching and pintucks for decorative finishes.
  • Under-pressing for final shape accuracy.
