About the Role of Midwife

Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib (HMG) is seeking a Midwife to join their team. This permanent position involves providing essential nursing care and support to obstetrical and surgical patients, adhering to the established standards and policies of HMG and the Nursing Department. The role is critical in ensuring patient well-being throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain up-to-date nursing care plans, tailored to individual patient needs.
• Assess patients to identify deviations from normal during labor and the postpartum period.
• Assist the medical team in managing life-threatening situations during delivery, providing initial stabilization until a physician arrives.
• Provide immediate assessment and care for normal newborns after birth.
• Offer assistance with postpartum care, including breastfeeding support.
• Prepare for deliveries and other medical procedures.
• Clean equipment, arrange for re-sterilization, and assist in setting up for subsequent cases.
• Coordinate efforts to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations.
• Process physicians' orders in accordance with policy, utilizing the order-entry system.
• Utilize communication systems efficiently, including telephone, computer, and mail systems.
• Assist in maintaining supplies and equipment, and perform clean-up/re-setup after deliveries.
• Provide support during emergency procedures, as well as elective and scheduled cases.
• Transport stable patients for diagnostic testing and between departments.
• Support and assist patients throughout the labor and delivery process.
• Communicate effectively with other departments for booking procedures, tracking information, and obtaining supplies or equipment.
• Educate patients and their families on relevant care.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
• Comply with standards and perform duties necessary to achieve and maintain national and international accreditation.
• Participate in person-centered care initiatives within HMG.
• Enhance patient experience through compassion, respect, and dignity.
• Perform other assigned tasks and duties consistent with knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Midwife position should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience. A strong understanding of obstetrical and surgical patient care is required, along with the ability to adhere to established medical standards and policies.
