Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Supervisor to join our team. The candidate must have previous practical experience in the field of occupational health and safety, with preference given to experience in hospitals, pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, or pharmaceutical companies. The supervisor will be responsible for implementing and monitoring occupational safety procedures, mitigating risks in the work environment, and ensuring compliance with established health and safety standards and regulations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Supervise the implementation of occupational health and safety policies and procedures within the facility.
• Identify and assess occupational hazards and develop plans to mitigate them.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements in hospitals or pharmaceutical and drug manufacturing facilities.
• Conduct periodic inspection rounds to ensure the implementation of occupational health and safety standards.
• Monitor fire prevention procedures, evacuation plans, and emergency protocols.
• Ensure the availability and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Investigate occupational accidents and injuries, prepare necessary reports, and propose corrective actions.
• Organize awareness and training programs for employees regarding occupational safety procedures.
• Monitor the storage, handling, and disposal of chemical and hazardous materials in accordance with safety requirements.
• Prepare and update occupational health and safety records and reports.
• Follow up on the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to ensure a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and relevant occupational health and safety standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 5 to 12 years of practical experience in the field of occupational health and safety.
• Previous experience in a hospital, pharmaceutical manufacturing plant, or a company operating in the pharmaceutical sector.
• Appropriate university degree, preferably in occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Good knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, procedures, and risk assessment.
• Familiarity with fire fighting, evacuation, and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to prepare reports, document accidents, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Strong communication, supervisory, training, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to monitor compliance with safety procedures and deal with various levels of employees within the facility.
