About FlapKap and the Role

FlapKap is establishing a private direct financing fund in Saudi Arabia, which will be regulated by the Capital Market Authority (CMA). This fund aims to provide flexible, growth-focused financing to Saudi SMEs, supporting the objectives of Vision 2030. FlapKap is a fintech startup operating in the MENA region, backed by investors including QED, BECO Capital, A15, Outliers, and Nclude, with over $40 million USD in total financing. We are seeking an Asset Management Associate to join the founding team in Saudi Arabia and work closely with the Head of Asset Management.

Role Context and Opportunity

This full-time role offers an opportunity to be part of the founding team for a new CMA-regulated fund. The position provides direct exposure to the full investment cycle and potential for growth as the fund develops. The fund is currently in the establishment phase, pending approval from the Capital Market Authority.

Key Responsibilities

• Support SME deal origination, credit analysis, due diligence, and underwriting processes.
• Develop financial models and prepare investment committee papers.
• Monitor portfolio performance, covenant compliance, and risk indicators.
• Assist in establishing the fund's policies, procedures, and operating processes during its setup phase.
• Coordinate with legal, compliance, the fund administrator, the custodian, and auditors.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in asset management or a related financial field. The role requires a professional capable of contributing to the establishment and operation of a direct financing fund.
