Oil & Gas Division is seeking a Senior Geotechnical/Geophysicist Engineer to be based at our office in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
The position will support engineering activities related to geotechnical engineering for Oil & Gas, industrial, infrastructure, and energy projects in Saudi Arabia.
We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong geotechnical background and, importantly, valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
Purpose of the role and main responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and review geotechnical investigations for Oil & Gas and industrial projects.
- Review borehole data, soil investigations, laboratory testing, and geotechnical interpretative reports.
- Develop and review geotechnical design parameters and recommendations.
- Perform or review foundation assessments for buildings, pipe racks, equipment, tanks, substations, and industrial facilities.
- Review shallow and deep foundation solutions, including piles where applicable.
- Assess soil bearing capacity, settlement, groundwater conditions, and excavation requirements.
- Provide recommendations for earthworks, soil improvement, backfilling, and site preparation.
- Coordinate geotechnical requirements with Civil, Structural, Pipeline, Mechanical, and other engineering disciplines.
- Review geotechnical deliverables during Concept, FEED, Basic Design, and Detailed Design phases.
- Participate in technical reviews and meetings with Clients and other stakeholders.
- Support Project Management in resolving geotechnical and site-related technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international and Saudi Arabian standards and project requirements.
Main requirements for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical/Geophysicist Engineering, or another SCE-recognized geotechnical engineering discipline.
- Saudi national or holder of a valid Saudi Iqama.
- Currently registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- SCE classification/discipline compatible with Geotechnical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of professional engineering experience, preferably within Oil & Gas, industrial, energy, or major infrastructure projects.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Strong networking skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all project levels
- Availability for short business trips within the GCC
