- Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Identify and classify goods and commodities according to the Harmonized System (HS Code), and verify the accuracy of customs items.

2. Prepare and submit customs declarations for import, export, and transit shipments through approved electronic systems.

3. Review customs documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading, and ensure their completeness and data accuracy.

4. Accurately input shipment and goods data into customs systems and reconcile them with submitted documents.

5. Determine the applicable customs tariffs, duties, and taxes on goods in accordance with relevant regulations and instructions.

6. Verify import and export requirements, permits, and necessary approvals from the relevant government and regulatory authorities.

7. Follow up on customs clearance procedures until the necessary requirements for releasing shipments are met.

8. Follow up on observations from customs and regulatory authorities and address them in coordination with clients and concerned departments.

9. Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and shipping and transport companies to obtain the necessary documents and information to complete transactions.

10. Review customs declarations before submission, ensuring compliance of goods description, quantities, weights, values, country of origin, and related documents.

11. Monitor updates in systems, customs tariffs, and regulations governing import and export.

12. Address errors and observations related to classification or customs data, and work on correcting them according to approved procedures.

13. Organize and maintain files for shipments, customs declarations, and related documents.

14. Adhere to company policies and work procedures and maintain the confidentiality of client and shipment data.

15. Maintain constant coordination with operations, shipping, and transport departments to ensure transactions are completed on time.

- Qualifications and Requirements

1. Practical experience in customs tariff classification and preparing/submitting customs declarations.

2. Good knowledge of the Harmonized System (HS Code) and customs tariffs.

3. Familiarity with import, export, transit, and customs clearance procedures in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

4. Proficiency in using the FASAH platform and related electronic systems, according to approved authorizations and requirements.

5. Knowledge of regulatory authority requirements, permits, and certificates needed based on the type of goods.

6. Proficiency in using computers and Microsoft Office programs.

7. Ability to read and understand commercial invoices, documents, and technical specifications in English.

8. High accuracy in data entry, reviewing documents, and detecting errors.

9. Ability to manage multiple transactions and shipments simultaneously and meet deadlines.
