Role Description:

The Senior Civil Engineer – Inspector is responsible for supervising, monitoring, and inspecting all civil construction activities on site to ensure that works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, applicable codes, and quality standards. The role involves coordinating with contractors, consultants, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure proper execution, quality control, safety compliance, and timely completion of construction activities.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Supervise and inspect daily civil construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor construction works, including earthworks, excavation, foundations, concrete, masonry, waterproofing, and infrastructure works.
• Review and verify shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical documents.
• Inspect materials, workmanship, and construction methods to ensure compliance with applicable codes and quality standards.
• Review and approve Inspection Requests (IRs/WIRs) and follow up on testing and quality control activities.
• Identify construction defects, technical discrepancies, and non-conformities, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical and site-related issues.
• Monitor construction progress, identify delays, and report site activities, issues, and observations to project management.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, construction procedures, and site safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate site inspection records, prepare progress reports, and support snagging, handover, and final acceptance activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering and construction site supervision.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Saudi Arabia.
• Proven experience in mixed-use projects and large-scale developments.
• Proven experience in site inspection, construction supervision, and quality control.
• Good knowledge of civil engineering construction practices, materials, and testing procedures.
• Experience working with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Familiarity with relevant international and KSA construction standards and codes.
