Job description

The Network Technician is tasked with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer networks and their components, including the extension and connection of network cables. Responsibilities include diagnosing technical faults and resolving them, monitoring network performance, and ensuring continuous connectivity, in addition to executing routine maintenance tasks and providing technical support to users according to established standards and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

• Installation of fiber optic cables and execution of extension, testing, and quality assurance tasks.
• Configuration and maintenance of computer networks and networking devices.
• Extension and connection of network cables and installation of access points.
• Diagnosis of network faults and resolution to ensure continuous connectivity.
• Preparation and configuration of networking devices, including routers and switches.
• Execution of preventive and routine maintenance tasks for network components.
• Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Providing technical support for end-user networking issues.
• Documenting maintenance activities, faults, and corrective actions taken.
• Adhering to network security standards and established technical procedures.

Skills

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Networks or a related field.
• Practical experience in the installation and maintenance of computer networks.
• Good knowledge of networking concepts and TCP/IP protocols.
• Ability to diagnose network faults and provide appropriate solutions.
• Familiarity with networking devices such as routers and switches.
• Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Preferred to hold relevant certifications such as CCNA.
