Our client is an established healthcare provider based in Saudi Arabia, delivering comprehensive non-acute and long-term healthcare services. The hospital focuses on specialized rehabilitation, long-term mechanical ventilation, renal dialysis and mental health services.

Role Overview

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for leading the hospital's financial strategy, operations and performance, ensuring profitability, liquidity, an optimal capital structure, operational efficiency and long-term financial sustainability, while maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will act as a strategic business partner, overseeing financial planning and analysis, accounting, revenue cycle management, treasury, lender relationships, taxation, financial controls and performance optimization.

This role will also lead the financial workstream of the organization's growth initiatives, including evaluating new healthcare facilities, capital investments, development projects and financing arrangements.

The ideal candidate will combine strong healthcare financial management experience (including contracts and revenue cycle management) with commercial acumen, a track record of leading finance through turnaround or restructuring, proficiency in healthcare information systems and the ability to contribute to strategic investment and expansion decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the hospital's financial strategy in alignment with its operational objectives and long-term business plans.
• Lead annual budgeting, financial forecasting, long-term financial planning and financial performance reviews and present financial results and forecasts to the Board and Audit Committee.
• Partner closely with the CEO and senior management to identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency and financial sustainability.
• Provide strategic financial advice on business performance, resource allocation, investments and commercial decisions.
• Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs, providing actionable analysis and recommendations to senior management.
• Establish effective financial controls, cost allocation methodologies and performance reporting across hospital departments.
• Manage working capital, liquidity and cash flow forecasting to ensure the hospital maintains appropriate financial resources.
• Oversee financial accounting, statutory reporting, financial governance and internal controls in accordance with IFRS.
• Lead annual external audits, coordinate with auditors and ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory financial statements and required regulatory filings.
• Establish and maintain robust financial controls, risk management procedures and financial governance frameworks.
• Support the CEO and relevant stakeholders in evaluating potential business expansion opportunities, including the development of new hospitals and healthcare facilities.
• Lead or contribute to financial feasibility studies, investment appraisals and business cases for new healthcare projects.
• Oversee capital expenditure planning, budgeting and financial monitoring for hospital infrastructure, medical equipment and development projects.
• Evaluate potential financing structures and funding requirements for capital investments and expansion initiatives.
• Oversee treasury operations, cash flow management, liquidity planning and financial risk management.
• Oversee the effective integration and utilization of Hospital Information Systems (HIS), ERP platforms, patient billing systems and revenue cycle management technologies.
• Ensure the accuracy and availability of financial and operational information across healthcare and accounting systems.
• Drive automation, financial reporting improvements and data-driven decision-making through the use of appropriate digital tools.
• Develop financial dashboards and management reporting tools to support timely performance analysis.
• Lead, manage and develop the hospital's finance function, ensuring strong financial controls and operational effectiveness.
• Act as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO and senior management.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline. Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA or CMA are preferred.
• Significant progressive finance experience, including senior financial leadership within hospitals or healthcare organizations.
• Proven experience within long-term care, rehabilitation, post-acute care or specialist healthcare facilities.
• Sound knowledge of Saudi Arabian financial reporting, statutory audit and other applicable taxation and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in banking relationships, treasury management and corporate financing.
• Strong experience in hospital financial management, budgeting, financial planning, revenue cycle management, treasury and financial controls.
• Exposure to capital expenditure planning, investment appraisals, financial feasibility studies and development projects.
• Experience supporting hospital expansion, greenfield healthcare developments or major capital investment projects would be an advantage.
• Strong proficiency in healthcare information systems, ERP platforms, billing systems and financial reporting technologies.
• Commercially astute, analytical and capable of partnering with clinical and operational leadership to improve business performance.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
