Site Civil Engineer

About the Role
SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking a Site Civil Engineer to oversee large-scale construction projects. This role focuses on ensuring that all project execution aligns with contractual, technical, and quality requirements. The position is a regular work type, requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
Identify deviations in contractor performance or expected outcomes, propose corrective actions, and coordinate with all parties to achieve project deliverables.
Review construction progress and quality control measures.
Manage, supervise, and monitor subordinate local civil engineers.
Monitor the quality and timeliness of responses from consultants regarding technical site issues and Requests for Information (RFIs).
Monitor information provided by contractors for RFIs and shop drawing submittals.
Track the timing of submittals against schedule requirements and the number of re-submittals needed for approval.
Ensure the suitability and availability of drawings and data for the contractor's work.
Monitor staffing levels and the suitability of abilities for outstanding work items.
Oversee the quality of products, information, and coordination provided by the consultant.
Monitor the quality and timeliness of inspections conducted by the consultant.
Verify and maintain copies of daily reports.
Monitor compliance with approved coordinated method statements for carrying out works.

Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering roles, particularly in construction project monitoring.
Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise engineering subordinates.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, technical specifications, and quality control processes.
