About the Role
Wood (KSA) is seeking an Onshore Pipeline Principal - SME to function as the Technical Authority across a diverse portfolio of energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects within Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires a professional with over 10 years of experience who will provide technical leadership throughout the entire project lifecycle, from proposals and concept studies to FEED, detailed engineering, construction support, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
As the highest level of technical authority within the discipline, the Onshore Pipeline Principal - SME will ensure engineering excellence and strengthen technical governance. The role involves leading the technical delivery of cross-country pipeline engineering and supporting the provision of safe, innovative, and high-quality engineering solutions.
Act as the Technical Authority across multiple projects.
Lead technical reviews during Concept, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
Perform independent design assurance and peer reviews.
Resolve complex engineering challenges and provide specialist guidance.
Support proposals, client workshops, and business development activities.
Technical Leadership and Mentorship
Beyond project support, this position involves significant contributions to the development of engineering teams and technical standards. The SME will play a crucial role in fostering technical capability and assuring the quality of engineering work.
Mentor engineers and develop technical capability within teams.
Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.
Contribute to technical assurance processes.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders across the region.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a recognized industry expert with a demonstrated history of addressing complex engineering challenges. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to influence clients, mentor engineering teams, and drive technical excellence on major international projects.
Required Experience
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in onshore pipeline engineering.
Demonstrated expertise in technical leadership across the project lifecycle.
