Job Purpose:
The IBM Safer Payments Developer / Implementation Consultant is responsible for the implementation, configuration, customization, optimization, and support of IBM Safer Payments (ISP) solutions for enterprise fraud detection and prevention. The role ensures effective fraud monitoring across banking and payment channels through fraud rule development, machine learning model configuration, payment integration, transaction monitoring, and fraud operations support while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities:
Design, configure, implement, and support IBM Safer Payments solutions across banking and financial services environments. Develop and maintain real-time fraud detection strategies, rules, and monitoring scenarios. Configure fraud detection controls for payment channels including cards, digital banking, instant payments, transfers, wallets, and open banking transactions. Implement and optimize fraud detection logic including behavioral analytics, velocity monitoring, geographic anomaly detection, account takeover detection, mule account detection, and transaction risk scoring. Configure fraud case management workflows, alert prioritization, escalation processes, and investigation queues. Configure and optimize machine learning models, fraud scoring mechanisms, and adaptive risk evaluation frameworks. Support fraud analytics initiatives to identify emerging fraud trends, anomalous behaviors, and evolving attack patterns. Integrate IBM Safer Payments with core banking platforms, payment gateways, card management systems, digital banking channels, AML platforms, CRM systems, and enterprise data services. Design and support integrations using APIs, event-streaming frameworks, messaging services, databases, and enterprise middleware platforms. Develop executive dashboards, fraud operations reports, fraud KPIs, false-positive analysis reports, and regulatory reporting outputs. Monitor, tune, and optimize platform performance to ensure low latency, high transaction throughput, and real-time fraud detection effectiveness. Perform system testing, integration testing, performance testing, UAT support, deployment activities, and post-production support. Investigate incidents, troubleshoot platform issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Support production deployments, upgrades, patch management, high-availability configurations, and disaster recovery activities. Collaborate closely with Fraud Operations, Compliance, AML, Payments, Cybersecurity, Risk, and Technology teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related. IBM Safer Payments technical certification. Professional certifications such as ACAMS, CFE, CAFCP, CISSP, or equivalent. ITIL Foundation certification.
Minimum Experience:
+5 years of experience in Fraud Management, Financial Crime Technology, Payment Systems, or Banking Technology. Hands-on experience implementing and supporting IBM Safer Payments solutions. Proven experience delivering at least two end-to-end IBM Safer Payments implementations. Experience working within real-time payment and fraud monitoring environments. Experience integrating fraud management solutions with enterprise banking and payment platforms.
