About the Role

The Principal Buyer | Saudi Power Procurement Company is seeking a Monitoring & Crisis Management Section Manager to oversee continuous monitoring, reporting, and management of incidents and crisis events within the power generation system. This full-time role, based in Saudi Arabia, requires ensuring timely classification and escalation of incidents to internal stakeholders and the Ministry of Energy, maintaining crisis management readiness, and coordinating effective crisis response.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct 24/7 monitoring, reporting, and management of incidents and crisis events across the power generation system.
• Ensure timely classification and escalation of incidents to internal stakeholders and the Ministry of Energy according to defined criteria.
• Maintain full readiness of crisis management facilities, tools, and communication channels.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to lead effective crisis response.
• Drive awareness and preparedness among PB employees and contractors regarding crisis management.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements governing crisis management in the power sector.

Main Activities

• Receive incident reports on a 24/7 basis and monitor contracted generation, power system status, fuel supply, tank levels, and transportation operations.
• Report incidents to internal stakeholders based on defined criteria (*, internal, external, BCM incidents).
• Classify and report incidents to the Ministry of Energy that meet specified criteria, providing all necessary documentation, descriptions, effects, actions, locations, and potential causes.
• Facilitate and participate in internal/external crisis management events until resolution, guided by PB leadership.
• Archive and periodically report the status of incidents to relevant teams.
• Ensure all Monitoring & Crisis Management (MCM) reporting and communication mediums are operational and tested regularly.
• Ensure the readiness of the crisis room and its facilities, and maintain the crisis management guide.
• Manage awareness initiatives for PB employees and contractors.
• Engage with key stakeholders during crises to ensure adequate crisis management.
• Execute and participate in crisis management drills with internal and external stakeholders.

• Strategy & Planning: Ensure execution of business line strategic plans and alignment of departmental goals with organizational objectives. Contribute to defining and monitoring departmental objectives, providing guidance to team members.
• People Management: Set and monitor individual and team performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews. Encourage continuous improvement and development among team members.
• Budgeting: Assist in tracking budget-related activities and report on variances.
• Policies, Processes & Procedures: Contribute to the development of policies and processes, ensure team adherence, and support process enhancements. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, report issues, and support corrective actions.
• Stakeholder Management: Manage interactions with key stakeholders to support team objectives, ensuring needs are met and aligned with team and organizational goals.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required for this position.

This is a full-time position based in Saudi Arabia, requiring a commitment to 24/7 monitoring and crisis management operations.
