Advise the delegation on matters related to the implementation of international humanitarian law (IHL) and on other legal aspects falling under international and national law, in Algeria and Tunisia. Develop, monitor, evaluate, and implement strategies to resolve identified situations and contribute to the achievement of the delegation's humanitarian objectives in the legal and diplomatic fields. Conduct and supervise research and analysis on issues related to IHL, its implementation and integration into national law, as well as on other relevant branches of international and national law. He/She organizes events and supports with his/her legal knowledge the activities carried out by other departments of the delegation (workshops, dissemination sessions, conferences, etc.) with state authorities, international actors, and academic circles. Contribute to the maintenance and development of the delegation's network of interlocutors among these actors.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Master's degree in law / Specialization (Bac + 6) in public international law, international humanitarian law, international human rights law, or international criminal law.
• In-depth knowledge of international humanitarian law and international human rights law is an asset.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in a similar position.
• Professional experience within a governmental authority (justice, foreign affairs, defense, interior), in the judicial sector, or with a national parliament is an asset.
• Excellent knowledge of Algerian and/or Tunisian national law (constitutional law, criminal law, criminal procedure, administrative law, etc.) and legislative procedure.
• Excellent analytical and writing skills.
• Excellent command of French and Arabic, written and spoken, and good knowledge of English (including written and oral comprehension).
• Proficiency in standard office software: spreadsheet, word processing, presentation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Outlook messaging, etc.
• Ability to represent the institution in accordance with its mandate and principles to authorities and other interlocutors.
• Listening and pedagogical skills, interpersonal skills (good oral expression, team spirit), taste for contact, ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
