Electrical Engineering Section Head

To lead and manage the Electrical Maintenance function at Eagle Chemicals, ensuring the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all electrical systems, automation, PLC and DCS control systems across the manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for maximizing equipment availability, minimizing downtime, enhancing system reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring full compliance with electrical, safety, and regulatory standards.

Electrical, PLC & DCS Systems Reliability

• Ensure maximum availability and reliability of electrical, PLC, and DCS systems with minimal unplanned downtime.

• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for failures related to PLCs, DCS, HMIs, VFDs, MCCs, and control panels.

• Ensure uninterrupted operation of control systems supporting production and utilities.

• Improve MTBF and reduce MTTR for electrical and automation systems.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Management

• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical and automation systems.

• Ensure timely execution of maintenance plans and shutdown activities.

• Establish maintenance standards, procedures, and checklists for PLC/DCS systems.

• Ensure proper spare parts management for critical electrical and automation

Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Lead automation improvement projects, system upgrades, and migrations for PLC and DCS platforms.

• Optimize control logic, alarms, and interlocks to improve process stability and safety.

• Support production optimization through improved automation and control strategies.

• Participate in CAPEX projects related to electrical and automation systems.

Safety, Compliance & Standards

• Ensure 100% compliance with electrical safety standards, company policies, and local regulations.

• Promote a strong safety culture within the electrical maintenance team.

• Ensure risk assessments, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices are implemented.

• Support internal and external audits and close findings in a timely manner.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

• Lead, coach, and develop the electrical maintenance and automation team.

• Assess competency gaps and deliver targeted technical training on PLC, DCS, and electrical systems.

• Ensure effective coordination with production, utilities, instrumentation, and mechanical teams.

• Build a high-performing, accountable, and engaged team.

Planning, Budget & Resource Management

• Prepare and manage the electrical maintenance budget and cost control initiatives.

• Optimize maintenance costs while maintaining system reliability.

• Manage contractors and external service providers for specialized automation works.

• Support spare parts strategy and inventory optimization.

Documentation, Reporting & Digitalization

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation for electrical, PLC, and DCS systems.

• Maintain control logic backups, software versions, and change management records.

• Prepare and submit maintenance performance reports and KPI dashboards.

• Support digital maintenance systems (CMMS, automation documentation).

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.

• Experience: Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in electrical maintenance and industrial automation within a manufacturing environment (chemical, industrial, or process manufacturing preferred).

• Technical Expertise:

  • Strong hands-on experience with PLC, DCS, HMI programming, and troubleshooting (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent).

  • In-depth knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Motor Control Centers (MCCs), power distribution, switchgears, and industrial instrumentation.

  • Solid understanding of control logic, industrial networking, electrical schematics, and single-line diagrams.

• Maintenance & Reliability: Proven track record in establishing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, improving OEE, managing MTBF/MTTR, and executing Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

• Safety & Compliance: High awareness of electrical safety standards, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and industrial HSE regulations.

• Leadership & Soft Skills: Strong leadership, team development, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
