Senior Technical Consultant / Project Director – Plastic Recycling Factory Setup

Location: Egypt — Cairo / Major Industrial Zones

Engagement: Project-based / Contractual Consultancy

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Akida Group is establishing a well-funded, high-capacity plastic recycling facility in Egypt, covering waste preparation, washing, drying, extrusion and pelletizing to produce quality flakes and granules. Our equipment strategy combines high-quality Chinese extrusion technology with custom-fabricated Egyptian mechanical equipment.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced technical leader to take the project from engineering design and supplier evaluation through installation, commissioning and stable commercial production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design the plant layout and process flows for PET, HDPE and PP recycling, with appropriate processing routes for each polymer.

• Integrate locally fabricated crushers, washing tanks and conveyors with imported extrusion and pelletizing lines, matching throughput, controls, electrical interfaces and mechanical speeds to avoid bottlenecks.

• Evaluate Chinese and Egyptian suppliers, verify technical specifications and inspect machinery before procurement.

• Define process parameters and quality controls to meet target customer specifications in local and export markets.

• Lead installation, commissioning, calibration and trial runs through production handover.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 12 years of hands-on experience in establishing, engineering or managing large-scale plastic recycling plants; 15+ years preferred.

• Strong expertise in sorting, crushing, friction washing, thermal drying, and single- and twin-screw extrusion and pelletizing.

• Demonstrated experience integrating Chinese machinery with locally engineered equipment.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Production Engineering.

• Strong knowledge of Egypt’s plastics industry, waste supply chains and reputable machinery fabricators.
