Job Description: Junior Financial Controller
Multinational energy project
Department: Project Controlling / Finance
Position: Junior Financial Controller
Contract Duration: 18 months

Job Purpose
The Junior Financial Controller will support the Project Controlling team in monitoring project financial performance, preparing financial reports, analyzing costs, and ensuring accurate financial data and compliance with company procedures. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to support effective financial planning and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project budget preparation, financial forecasting, and cost controlling activities.
- Monitor project costs, revenues, margins, and cash flow against approved budgets.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and management presentations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Analyze financial variances and investigate discrepancies between actual results and forecasts.
- Support purchase order tracking, invoice verification, accruals, and provisions.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data consistency across financial systems.
- Assist in preparing project financial forecasts and periodic updates.
- Coordinate with project managers and other departments to collect and validate financial information.
- Support internal and external audit requirements and ensure compliance with financial policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and financial controls.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Approximately 1–3 years of experience in financial controlling, project controlling, accounting, or financial analysis.
- Fresh graduates with relevant internships and strong analytical skills may also be considered.
- Experience in a multinational company or project-based environment is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting tools is a plus.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
