Role Description The Specification Engineer (building materials) is a full-time, on-site role based in New Cairo. The individual in this position will collaborate with architects, consultants, contractors, and project owners to specify Forbo flooring solutions for commercial and residential projects. Daily tasks include reviewing project drawings and technical documentation, preparing product specifications and technical submittals, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and project requirements. The role involves providing technical support on product performance, installation methods, and maintenance guidelines, as well as conducting site visits to assess conditions and follow up on implementation quality. The Specification Engineer will also deliver technical presentations, participate in tenders, support the sales team with engineering input, and maintain accurate records of projects and specifications in progress.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge in building materials and flooring systems, including understanding of product performance, installation techniques, and relevant standards.
• Experience reading and interpreting architectural drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong project coordination skills, including the ability to manage multiple specifications, meet deadlines, and follow up with stakeholders.
• Effective communication and presentation abilities to engage with architects, engineers, contractors, and end clients.
• Proficiency in using office productivity software (e.g., MS Office) and familiarity with design or drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD) is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in building materials, flooring, or interior finishes is preferred.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to sustainable, design-oriented solutions.
• Ability to work on-site in New Cairo and conduct regular field and client visits as required.
