Role Description The Biomedical Engineer IVD will work on-site in Qesm Qena in a full-time capacity, supporting the installation, calibration, and performance verification of in vitro diagnostic and related medical equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and coordinating repairs to minimize equipment downtime. The role involves working closely with clinical staff to understand equipment performance requirements, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and documenting all service activities accurately. The Biomedical Engineer IVD will also assist in training users on correct equipment operation, support procurement and evaluation of new devices, and contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and technical documentation.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to IVD and medical devices.
• Hands-on experience with Medical Equipment and IVD systems, including familiarity with their operation, safety features, and performance parameters.
• Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance practices, including calibration, inspection, and troubleshooting of technical faults.
• Relevant academic background, such as a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols applicable to medical and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, service documentation, and schematics, and to maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clinical staff, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple service tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
