Position summary

Remove and separate soiled laundry from chutes or housekeeping carts. Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery in accordance with company standards. Apply the correct treatment to stained items based on fabric and stain type. Maintain accurate records of items washed, number of loads, and poundage of dry cleaning and laundry. Transport carts of washed articles to dryers and place items in dryers according to load size. Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain traps after each load. Monitor chemical container levels to ensure chemicals are being dispensed, and notify a supervisor or manager of potential pump problems.

Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures. Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries. Complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team in reaching common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.

Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
