Role Description The Senior Backup & Storage Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise backup and storage environments to ensure data availability, integrity, and recoverability. This full-time, on-site role is based in Cairo, Egypt and involves daily monitoring of backup jobs, storage performance, capacity utilization, and system health. The role includes configuring and optimizing storage solutions, managing data replication, performing root-cause analysis for incidents, and coordinating with system administrators, application teams, and security teams. The Senior Administrator will document procedures, participate in audits, support disaster recovery exercises, and drive continuous improvement of backup and storage standards across the bank’s infrastructure. Qualifications Strong skills in Storage Management and Storage Solutions, including configuration, optimization, and capacity planning for enterprise storage platforms. Proficiency in System Administration with a focus on integrating storage and backup systems into server and application environments. Experience with Replication technologies to support high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection strategies. Advanced Troubleshooting capabilities for diagnosing and resolving storage, backup, and performance issues in complex environments. Experience with enterprise backup tools and technologies (e.g., Net Backup, Commvault, Veeam, or similar) and SAN/NAS solutions. Understanding of banking or financial services technology, information security principles, and regulatory requirements related to data retention and recovery. Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and reports for audits, compliance, and operational use. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Relevant certifications (e.g., storage vendor certifications, backup solution certifications, or ITIL) are considered an advantage. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams on-site.
