Summary

The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization. Reporting to the Finance Manager or Controller this individual is responsible for overseeing complex accounting functions maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and delivering accurate financial reporting. With 5 years of progressive experience the Senior Accountant contributes to strategic decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis managing month-end and year-end close processes and supporting audits and financial reviews. This role demands a high level of accuracy attention to detail and a strong understanding of accounting principles tax regulations and internal controls. The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the organizations financial health ensuring transparency compliance and continuous improvement in financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
  
• Prepare and analyze financial reports including P&L balance sheets and cash flow statements for internal and external stakeholders
  
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards
  
• Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management on financial performance
  
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation explanations and recommendations
  
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations including timely filing of tax returns and maintaining proper documentation
  
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes including vendor payments customer invoicing and collections
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial controls streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy
  
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff fostering professional development and knowledge transfer
  
• Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard assets and prevent fraud
  
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities contributing to financial planning and strategic initiatives
  

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
  
• 5 years of progressive experience in accounting with demonstrated expertise in financial reporting and general ledger management
  
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills
  
• Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS tax regulations and internal control frameworks
  
• Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders
  
• Experience with audit coordination and compliance reporting is highly desirable
  
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial automation tools is a plus
  
• Willingness to adapt to evolving financial regulations and technological advancements
  

Required Skills:
