1. Planning, organizing, and directing complex, critical, and non-critical lifting operations on site in strict compliance with Saudi Aramco Safety and Lifting Standards.

2. Reviewing, verifying, and approving Critical Lift Plans for heavy lifts, multi-crane tandem lifts, lifts over operating equipment/facilities, tailing operations, and specialized rigging activities.

3. Performing pre-lift inspections of all rigging gear, tackle, mobile cranes, overhead cranes, and lifting equipment to verify load capacity, structural integrity, and current certification status.

4. Calculating total load weights, crane capacities, boom angles, operating radii, line pulls, and center-of-gravity (CG) positions to ensure safe margins of safety.

5. Inspecting, selecting, and directing the proper rigging hardware (slings, shackles, spreader beams, turnbuckles, chain blocks, and wire ropes) based on load configuration and weight distribution.

6. Leading pre-lift safety briefings and Toolbox Talks (TBT) with crane operators, riggers, signalmen, and site personnel involved in lifting activities.

7. Directing crane positioning, outrigger placement, ground bearing pressure checks, and matting installation prior to setup.

8. Providing clear and precise hand signals, radio communications, and line-of-sight guidance to crane operators during blind or high-risk hoisting operations.

9. Monitoring site environmental conditions (wind speed, visibility, ground stability) and exercising Stop Work Authority immediately if unsafe conditions arise.

10. Tagging and taking out of service any damaged, uncertified, or sub-standard rigging tackle or equipment.

11. Coordinating closely with the Safety Supervisor, Lifting Supervisor, Project Manager, and client representatives (Saudi Aramco SAPMT/TID) during audit inspections and critical lift execution.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Education: High School Diploma, Technical Diploma, or equivalent vocational training certificate.

• Certifications:

  • Valid Saudi Aramco Rigger Level 1 Approval Card / Certification (Mandatory).

  • Third-party certified Rigger Level 1 card (e.g., TUV, Velosi, or Aramco-approved vendor).

• Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience as a certified Rigger Level 1 handling critical and heavy lifts in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Cross-Country Pipeline construction projects in Saudi Arabia.

Skills and Characteristics

• Fully conversant with Saudi Aramco General Instruction (GI 7.027, GI 7.028, GI 7.029, GI 7.030) and Aramco Heavy Lifting and Crane Safety Manuals.

• Deep technical knowledge of crane load charts, crane configuration dynamics, rigging geometry, and critical lift planning calculations.

• Strong leadership qualities with top-notch executive skills to direct multi-crane setups and manage complex lifting crews safely.

• Thorough familiarity with standard international rigging codes and safety regulations (ASME B30 series, OSHA).

• Excellent visual-spatial awareness, precision communication, and standard hand/radio signal command capability.

• Strong safety awareness and commitment to zero-accident culture during heavy rigging and transport activities.

• Physical capability and stamina to work outdoors in challenging industrial and remote project environments.

• Teamwork and collaborating abilities to work seamlessly with crane operators, HSE teams, and construction superintendents.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for reviewing lift plan documentation and inspection logs.
