About KBR and the Role

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) delivers comprehensive solutions across the entire asset lifecycle, encompassing licensed process technologies, advisory services, technical expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions for optimizing assets. KBR is seeking a Commercial Head to manage all activities related to securing contracts for maintenance operations within the Maintenance Department. This full-time position is based in Makkah, specifically covering operations in Rabigh and Makkah.

Role Overview

The Commercial Head will be responsible for overseeing the entire contracting process for maintenance activities. This includes developing scopes of work, defining bidders, managing tender processes, awarding contracts, and authorizing work commencement. The role ensures compliance with operational area requirements to achieve World Class performance standards within the Maintenance Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop scopes of work for maintenance activities to be executed by contractors during normal refinery operations.
• Formulate evaluation criteria and preliminary cost estimations for contracts.
• Coordinate and manage all activities related to preparing Instructions to Bidders, conducting kick-off meetings with contractors, and evaluating economical offers after technical evaluations.
• Ensure the implementation of company HSSEQ policies and programs across all contracts under their responsibility.
• Integrate QA/QC requirements and KPIs into all Maintenance Contractor agreements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 12+ years of experience in contracting, with a total of 10+ years of experience required for the role.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Good knowledge of the SAP system.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions division, focusing on critical maintenance contracting activities in the Makkah region, including Rabigh. The role requires a leader capable of operating effectively within a dynamic industrial environment.
