Senior Exploration Minerals Geologist

About the Role

Saudi Aramco is seeking a Senior Exploration Minerals Geologist to join the Aramco Minerals organization within the Upstream Business Line. This full-time role involves working as a technical advisor within the exploration and mining team, focusing on identifying and evaluating new mineral deposits to support future growth.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive exploration and mining strategies and programs aligned with company objectives.
• Identify high-potential target areas through detailed analysis of geological, geophysical, and geochemical data, utilizing remote sensing, airborne surveys, and ground-based investigations.
• Conduct metallurgical testing and analysis to determine ore characteristics, mineralogy, and extractability, informing decisions on optimal extraction methods.
• Interpret geological data, including mapping, logging, and sampling results, to provide insights for mining method selection, reserve estimation, and resource optimization.
• Apply knowledge of the Mineral System concept, crustal evolution, regional structural geology, and basin modeling processes to guide exploration and exploitation strategies.
• Advise on sampling processes for soil, rock, and core samples, and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on exploration findings.
• Plan and execute drilling campaigns for exploration, infill, and extension purposes.
• Utilize GIS and 3D modeling software for data visualization and analysis to support exploration and mining decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists and environmental scientists, to achieve shared goals.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance to junior team members.
• Implement and monitor QA/QC protocols to ensure high-quality data and minimize errors.
• Ensure all processing activities comply with environmental and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in minerals exploration and mining.
• Strong understanding of mineralogy, metallurgical principles, exploration techniques, and mineral deposit models.
• Experience with sedimentary hosted mineralization.
• Proficiency in interpreting complex datasets related to crustal evolution, regional structural geology, and basin modeling.
• Ability to conduct fieldwork, including site visits for sample and data collection and analysis.
