FIDIC Contract Experience
Strong working knowledge and practical experience with the FIDIC Red Book (Conditions of Contract for Construction), including the 1999 and/or 2017 editions.
Experience administering FIDIC-based construction and engineering contracts from tendering and contract award through execution and final closeout.
Knowledge of FIDIC Yellow Book (Plant and Design-Build) and Silver Book (EPC/Turnkey Projects) is an advantage.
Understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and obligations of the Employer, Contractor, Engineer, and other contractual parties under FIDIC contracts.
Experience interpreting Particular Conditions, General Conditions, Contract Data, specifications, appendices, and contractual amendments.
Contract Administration & Claims Management
Manage contractual notices, instructions, variations, change orders, and amendments in accordance with contractual provisions.
Review and manage Extension of Time (EOT) claims, delay analysis, disruption claims, and associated cost claims.
Assess contractual entitlements relating to delays, additional costs, variations, and changes in scope.
Monitor contractual milestones, programme compliance, deliverables, and critical notice periods.
Manage claims submissions, counterclaims, supporting documentation, and contractual correspondence.
Support dispute avoidance, negotiation, settlement, and dispute resolution procedures, including Dispute Avoidance/Adjudication Boards (DAAB/DAB) where applicable.
Ensure compliance with contractual notice requirements, time bars, claim submission deadlines, and record-keeping obligations.
Commercial & Financial Management
Review interim payment applications, progress payment certificates, and supporting documentation.
Monitor variations, valuation of additional works, provisional sums, and adjustments to the Contract Price.
Manage retention, advance payments, performance securities, guarantees, and final account settlements.
Review liquidated damages, delay damages, and other contractual deductions where applicable.
Support cost control, budget monitoring, commercial reporting, and contractual risk assessments.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in construction contracts, commercial management, or contract administration.
Proven practical experience administering FIDIC Red Book contracts.
FIDIC Contract Management certification or relevant professional training is preferred.
RICS/MRICS, CIPS, CPCM, PMP, or other relevant professional certifications are advantageous.
Experience with Saudi construction projects and applicable Saudi regulations is highly preferred.
Strong command of written and spoken English; Arabic speakers are preferred.
