About the Role

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Director of Sustainability for Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea. This full-time role requires 2-5 years of experience and is central to upholding the Six Senses vision of reconnecting individuals with themselves, others, and the world. The Director will ensure that the core pillars of Sustainability, Wellness, and Out of the Ordinary experiences are integrated into all hotel operations.

Role Purpose and Vision

The Director of Sustainability will safeguard the strategic planning and development of sustainability initiatives within the hotel. This involves ensuring all directives, practices, and initiatives align with the brand's values, including local sensitivity, global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring practices, fun and quirky elements, and pioneering wellness. The role is critical for the implementation and adoption of these pillars throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all sustainability initiatives for hosts and guests achieve their full potential.
• Manage the Sustainability Fund monthly, ensuring transparent collection and distribution of funds, and documenting supported projects.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key community organizations, including schools, special interest groups, local government, and tourism associations.
• Engage regularly with the local community through Sustainability Fund projects and educational sustainability activities.
• Develop and lead monthly sustainable host events to foster a culture of sustainability among the team.
• Connect the hotel with globally recognized sustainability events and initiatives, such as Earth Day and World Ocean’s Day, for guests and hosts.
• Manage existing sustainability partnerships and identify opportunities for new collaborations.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships for Sustainability Fund support and in-kind contributions from Six Senses hosts, guided by the General Manager and Home Office Sustainability.
• Collaborate with the Experiences team to develop guest sustainability experiences highlighting the hotel’s efforts, local culture, unique environment, and fund projects.
• Implement suitable sustainability practices for operations in line with Six Senses policies.
• Establish and deliver pre-established financial returns related to revenue generation, profitability, and ROIC.
• Operate the property in compliance with legal, statutory, and financial requirements, including reporting systems, contractual obligations, security protocols, and budgetary controls.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of sustainability principles and their practical application within a hospitality context. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for engaging with both internal teams and external community partners.

This is a full-time position based at Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea. The role involves working within a dynamic environment focused on integrating sustainability into all aspects of hotel operations and guest experiences.
