Red Sea Global is seeking a Senior Specialist - Health and Safety to join Botanica, a subsidiary focused on providing sustainable greenery across Red Sea Global’s destinations. Botanica ensures the careful integration of new species with local flora. This full-time role is crucial for maintaining compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental policies and guidelines within the organization.

Role Overview

The Senior Specialist - Health and Safety will advise on measures to minimize hazards and maintain a safe working environment, with a focus on preventive strategies. The role involves driving the H&S regulatory compliance system, coordinating H&S hazard identification, and supporting risk assessment and control measure identification and execution. This position supports Red Sea Global's implementation of applicable H&S Standards and Landscape Nursery H&S Programs, aiming to establish a workplace that meets legal safety standards and cultivates a strong health, safety, and environment culture. The specialist will also provide guidance in Health & Safety Management based on ISO 45001 Standard and contribute to continuous improvement and standard development.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain compliance with all safety regulations and standardize H&S practices.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend control measures.
• Provide close site supervision, inspections, and safety audits to evaluate program effectiveness and ensure compliance.
• Support the development and review of job safety analyses and risk assessments.
• Initiate, organize, and perform H&S training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Actively participate in safety committees and lead cross-functional teams to address complex HSE issues.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and promote a safety culture through safe work practices and recognition.
• Provide technical guidance and support to employees and external stakeholders on HSE-related matters.
• Correct unsafe acts or conditions through established lines of authority and stop dangerous or unhealthy processes.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills.
• Record and investigate incidents to determine causes, prepare reports, and provide statistical information.
• Assist in maintaining comprehensive records and documentation related to HSE programs.
• Stay informed of changes in HSE regulations, industry trends, and best practices, implementing necessary updates.
• Promote a positive safety culture by fostering employee engagement and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in health and safety.
• Substantial understanding and knowledge of ISO and other relevant regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of legislation such as OSHA/EMS, Saudi Arabia’s HSE, COSHH, Confined Space, Lifting Operations, and Excavations.
• Demonstrated health and safety experience in Gulf countries and local legislation.
