Job Summary
The Irrigation Technician is responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance on irrigation systems, ensuring proper water distribution and efficient operation of irrigation equipment across landscaped and agricultural areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Repair damaged irrigation pipes and pipe connections.
- Replace faulty drip emitters and sprinkler components.
- Inspect irrigation lines for leaks, blockages, and water pressure issues.
- Assist with pump station maintenance.
- Troubleshoot irrigation system faults and carry out necessary repairs.
- Check valves, filters, and irrigation fittings.
- Support the installation and maintenance of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and report technical issues.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and ensure proper use of tools and equipment.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary School / High School qualification.
- Relevant experience in irrigation system maintenance.
- Knowledge of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, pipe jointing, and emitter replacement.
- Basic knowledge of pumps and irrigation equipment.
- Ability to identify faults and perform practical repairs.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
