About the Role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to join their site-based Construction Supervision team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is integral to a major landmark development project that includes the design, enabling, and main works for a large-scale destination, featuring iconic assets, hospitality facilities, and supporting infrastructure.

Project Context

As the Construction Supervision Consultant (CSC), Parsons is responsible for independent, end-to-end supervision and management of the project. The Senior Environmental Engineer will ensure all works meet stringent program, quality, safety, and sustainability requirements, contributing to the successful completion, integration, testing, commissioning, and handover of the project to support its long-term legacy objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee environmental compliance activities across project sites.
• Ensure compliance with project environmental requirements, permits, and applicable local regulations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and site assessments to identify risks and ensure compliance.
• Review contractor environmental plans, method statements, and environmental reports.
• Monitor environmental performance and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Assess and mitigate environmental impacts related to construction activities.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities on environmental matters.
• Prepare environmental reports, compliance documentation, and performance metrics.
• Monitor waste management, pollution prevention, resource conservation, and sustainability initiatives.
• Support biodiversity, ecology, and environmental protection requirements where applicable.
• Investigate environmental incidents and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
• Provide environmental awareness training and guidance to project teams.
• Support environmental permitting and approval processes.
• Promote sustainability and continuous environmental improvement across project activities.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior environmental staff.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, handover, and project closeout activities from an environmental perspective.
• Perform other duties related to environmental management as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in environmental compliance, management plans, and site assessments.
• Familiarity with local environmental regulations and permitting processes.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, site-based position located in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, working as part of a dedicated Construction Supervision team.
