Role Overview

The Manager - Fleet Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operational readiness of the contracted bus fleet. This full-time role involves ensuring all relevant fleet vehicles are maintained in optimal condition, scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance (PM) are completed on time, and contractor performance is effectively audited and managed. The incumbent will play a key role in ensuring fleet availability, reliability, and compliance with company standards. This position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage maintenance contracts with service providers, ensuring all terms and conditions are met and addressing performance issues.
• Ensure maximum fleet availability by monitoring service schedules, downtime, and repairs, working proactively to minimize disruptions.
• Conduct regular audits of contractor maintenance activities to ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations.
• Ensure all relevant fleet vehicles undergo regular servicing, preventive maintenance (PM), and necessary repairs according to manufacturer guidelines and company policies.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fleet maintenance, including uptime, service completion rates, and contractor efficiency.
• Monitor maintenance costs and optimize expenses through efficient resource allocation and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
• Liaise with operations, procurement, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution of maintenance activities and budget adherence.
• Ensure all buses comply with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and operational standards set by Red Sea Global.
• Prepare and present periodic reports on fleet maintenance status, contractor performance, and critical issues.
• Identify opportunities for improving maintenance efficiency, reducing downtime, and enhancing overall fleet reliability.

Operational Guidelines and Standards

• Adhere to all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure consistent work execution.
• Assist in preparing accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.
• Apply safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, high-quality service delivery, and responsible environmental practices.

Continuous Improvement

The role contributes to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within the department's systems, processes, and practices. This includes considering international best practices, enhancing business processes, reducing costs, and improving productivity.
