1. Role Overview

We are looking for a technically strong Support & Implementation Engineer to provide production/application support and implementation services for the Cortex Merchant Acquiring platform.

The candidate will be responsible for handling technical issues across Linux operating systems, backend application components and database environments. The role involves troubleshooting, incident management, application monitoring, deployment support and implementation activities in a banking environment.

The position requires working onsite at the customer location and collaborating closely with the bank’s IT, infrastructure, application and business teams.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 technical and application support for the Cortex Merchant Acquiring platform.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Linux-based operating systems and backend application components.
• Investigate application issues, analyse system logs and identify root causes.
• Perform SQL queries, database validation and troubleshooting using Oracle Exadata.
• Support application installation, configuration, deployment and implementation activities.
• Monitor backend processes, scheduled jobs, interfaces and application services.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, database and application teams to resolve technical incidents.
• Perform production health checks, issue analysis and preventive maintenance.
• Support application upgrades, patches, releases and environment configuration.
• Participate in incident management, problem management and change management activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, support procedures and operational handover documents.
• Work closely with customer stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of production issues and uninterrupted application operations.

3. Mandatory Technical Skills

• Linux / Unix: Good hands-on experience in Linux operating systems, shell commands, process monitoring, log analysis and troubleshooting.
• SQL: Strong SQL knowledge, including complex queries, data validation and database troubleshooting.
• Oracle Exadata: Working experience with Oracle database environments, preferably Oracle Exadata.
• Backend Technologies: Understanding of backend application architecture, application services, interfaces and system integrations.
• Application Support: Experience in production support, incident management and technical troubleshooting.
• Implementation: Exposure to application deployment, configuration, environment setup and release management.

4. Domain Experience

• Banking and financial services domain experience is mandatory.
• Merchant Acquiring / Payment Processing experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of merchant onboarding, POS terminals, payment transactions, transaction processing and settlement processes will be an added advantage.
• Experience working with banking applications and production environments.

6. Experience

Relevant experience in Linux administration, SQL, Oracle databases, banking application support and implementation.

Preference: Candidates with hands-on experience in Merchant Acquiring or payment-processing applications.
