About the Role

King Abdullah bin Abdelaziz University is seeking a Paramedic III to join its Division of Emergency Medical Services. This full-time role involves providing professional pre-hospital and in-hospital emergency care, adhering to established standards, protocols, and procedures within the paramedic's scope of practice. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete assigned responsibilities in accordance with hospital, division, and EMS guidelines, standards, and directives, under the supervision of the charge paramedic or section-head.
• Provide high-quality patient care, both pre-hospital and in-hospital, based on a competent understanding of patient needs and established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Deliver attentive patient care thoroughly, efficiently, and cost-effectively, while maintaining awareness of the patient's physical, medical, and cultural needs.
• Operate and maintain EMS vehicles and equipment properly to prevent damage.
• Prepare and complete all required reports and maintain patient confidentiality.

Administrative and Operational Duties

• Ensure EMS vehicles, equipment, and supplies are in a constant state of readiness.
• Adhere to and implement EMS administrative and medical control directives.
• Complete administrative and clinical functions as assigned by the charge paramedic or section-head.
• Ensure proper utilization and assignment of staff on duty and actively participate in EMS staff meetings.

Professional Development and Quality Improvement

• Attend skills maintenance programs to ensure professional proficiency and maintain professional licensure and required certifications.
• Participate in the development and presentation of educational awareness programs and assist in the orientation and professional development of other EMS personnel.
• Attend professional development courses and participate in professional research programs.
• Provide continuous feedback to improve the working environment and patient care, striving to deliver a higher level of quality care.
• Utilize medical supplies properly to avoid wastage and assist in situational problem-solving and resource utilization.
• Participate in and support quality improvement and patient safety activities.

Teamwork and Professionalism

• Work in partnership with members of the EMS team and other healthcare professionals, promoting a positive attitude.
• Maintain a professional image and proper grooming at all times.
• Be punctual, organize daily tasks and break times efficiently, and respect patients and their families to promote a patient-centered care culture.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Working knowledge of current trends in EMS and new developments in the healthcare field.
• Ability to improve communications in English and Arabic.
