Job description
We are seeking a Senior Petroleum Consultant with strong petroleum industry expertise, regional market knowledge, and a solid understanding of energy and petroleum policy to support our consulting projects.The consultant will provide research, analytical, and strategic insights to oil & gas companies, investors, and industry stakeholders on energy markets, petroleum policies, regulatory developments, investment conditions, and energy transition across the GCC and broader Middle East.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on energy and petroleum policies, regulatory frameworks, industry regulations, and energy strategies across Middle Eastern markets.
- Provide technical and strategic advisory support on petroleum exploration, development, production, and upstream projects.
- Assess the potential impact of policy, regulatory, and institutional changes on oil & gas projects, investment opportunities, and market conditions.
- Monitor and analyze government energy policies, petroleum sector reforms, regulatory trends, and major industry developments relevant to the oil & gas sector.
- Prepare or contribute to client reports, policy briefs, industry research, regulatory analysis, market reports, presentations, and workshops.
- Work independently with the consulting team on a part-time or project-based basis.
Skills
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in petroleum, oil & gas, energy, energy consulting, policy research, industry research, or a related sector.
- Previous experience in the Middle East, particularly GCC countries, is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Reservoir Engineering, Energy, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Good knowledge of Middle East energy markets, petroleum policies, regulatory frameworks, and industry developments.
- Strong research, analytical, report-writing, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to independently conduct research, assess complex information, and provide clear insights for consulting projects.
Preferred Candidates
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
- Energy market and petroleum policy analysis
- Petroleum investment, licensing, and regulatory frameworks
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or above
